The Mississippi Coalition for Public Charter Schools, of which the Mississippi Center for Public Policy is a member, will host a conference to provide the basics for starting a charter school under Mississippi’s new charter school law.

Tuesday, June 25, 2013
1:00 – 5:00 PM
Woolfolk State Office Building
501 N. West Street (across the street from the Capitol)

If you are interested in opening a charter school or supporting one in your community – or if you think you might be – this introductory conference is for you. Conference topics include a basic introduction to charter schools, an overview of Mississippi’s new law, and general guidelines for the application process. Just as importantly, you’ll hear from charter school leaders from Arkansas and Tennessee who have lived through the process of starting a school from scratch – and how you can do it, too.

The cost of the conference is $15, and you can register at mspubliccharters.eventbrite.com.

If you have any questions about this event, contact to Erika Berry, Advocacy Coordinator with the Mississippi Coalition for Public Charter Schools at 601-750-9223 or erikarberry@gmail.com.
